Companion Love

The purpose of this blog is to record some of Kayla's mission experiences so that she can have a record to look back on and remember the special and sacred time she had serving in the Philippines.  I want to include a few emails that we have received from Kayla's companions the past few weeks.  Kayla has been blessed with amazing trainers.  Her first trainer had developed problems with her feet, so after a few weeks, she was given a new assignment.  Kayla was then placed in a trio to be trained by Sister Bradshaw along side Sister Hulon.  Sister Bradhsaw was eventually transferred and Kay staying in Balambam with Sister Hulon, who took over her training.  These sister have been so goooood to her.  They have LOVED her, helped her so much with the language and getting to know the area and the people.  They have served her, cooked for her, tried to take care of her fevers and cough, and been such a bright light of happiness in her daily life.

They both have written individual emails to each of Kayla's sisters back home and to Robert and I to share their feelings and appreciation for Kayla.  As a family, we have prayed for them by name and fasted for them as a companionship and though we have never met them, we love these girls as our own.  There are so many wonderful blessings that come from serving a mission, and rubbing shoulders with these other sisters who have chosen to leave everything to go and serve the Lord for 18 months is definitely one of them

Hello sweet Miller family!
This is Sister Bradshaw and I am Sister Miller's temporary trainer for a while! I just wanted to rant to you guys about how amazing your daughter is. I swear she already knows this entire language and is teaching so much and SHE BLOWS MY MIND. AHHHHH.
I just think back to when I was in her shoes and it was hard to adjust to the Philippines! So I was just wondering if you guys could send me some of her favorite foods, things, people, idk, everything so I can help her adjustment be a little easier.

AHHH I LOVE your daughter so much already and I love you guys too because she really is so special! Sister Hulon and I will take care of her here in Balamban :)

LOVE YOU GUYS and have a great week!  ALSO- can I have the email of all her siblings? She talks about them a lot and I want to shoot them an email too! :)

Lord Strengthens Us

Okay sorry I have like no time but ah such a good week!!! On Saturday we tried so hard to visit all of our people with baptismal dates and traveled up and down Balamban on the trikes just racing across different barungays to get to people's houses and share about the Sabbath Day.  The Lord really just does strengthens us because even though we didnt have lunch or dinner, people gave us crackers and bananas and coconut juice and then 2 people came to church!!!!

Glendell and JunJun both said they really felt something in their hearts in our first lesson and to see them there and to see the sacrifice they made to come AH what a miracle!!!

I have been kind of sick still and I feel so blessed to have Sister Hulon to take my temperature a million times a day and give me cool rags ah I just am so ready to get back to the work and continue to share this GOOD NEWS!!!! And Sister Hulon is transferring to the city so I will have a new companion and there will be many prayers per usual so hopefully I can get us around and we can just keep doing the Lord's work!! sooo grateful for this time to serve and the Philippines and ah my family they are incredible I love them and love you all!!!!!

They love to braid my hair
